Boy, are you lost! China is Communist in name only. The US is a Democracy in name only. Today, China is a Meritocratic Socialist-Capitalist state, the US is a Represenatative Democratic Socialist-Capitalist state. The only difference is, in how their political systems manage these systems. China uses meritocracy, the US uses representative Democracy. Are we still with it?
China operates like an American corporation, management is selected base on merit and in most cases, by the next level in the management chain. The President is chosen by the Board of Directors. China works in a very similar fashion, hence the term meritocratic. Are American companies Communist?
The US is not a popular democracy, in total, for example, our presidential elections. Candidates are selected by individual parties in the primary. Only party member select candidates to run. In the presidential election, votes are tallied on a state by state basis where some states ratio their electoral college votes and others use a’winner take all’ system. In our last election, Donald Trump won the electoral votes but Hillary won the popular vote. Many don’t realize it but agencies and functions like social security, medicare, medicaid, schools, the VA, fire and police services, our national parks, our armed forces, are really forms of Socialism. Today’s fight is with healthcare, which is a hybrid. Medicare for seniors is Socialism, but health care for others is not. In the case of Medicare, it is really a hybrid, like most countries that have healthcare for all. Medicare is a government run program, but medical providers are in the private sector.
So, what in the world is happening? This is what classical thermodynamics calls Entropy, a convergence to a single temperature, or in our example, a single political system. What you are seeing, around the world, is a convergence to a Socialist-Capitalist system. Whether it is politically managed as a Democracy, Meritocracy, or another system, the Socialist-Capitalist reference seems to be where most countries are headed.
